UI Show Down: MS Office Outlook v. Apple Mail

For me, it has been a long time since I have HAD to use MS Outlook.  Recently, because of "IT" issues, I have had to use MS Outlook via Crossover.  I am still on my Mac.  But, still . . . it kind of sucks.  I was struck and reminded of the UI design differences between MS and Apple.

    Take a look.

I'm still waiting for the 3 vertical pane view in Apple Mail though. Can't stand the traditional split pane view.

For a vertical pane view in Apple Mail, try these:

I've tried these before but don't how flexible the columns are in the middle column. If you show the sender, subject and date, the columns ends up too narrow.  I prefer the double row approach where you can have the subject on a whole separate row and other data on another row.  I know I'm anal about it.

I now use: http://mailplaneapp.com/. Love it for managing multiple gmail accounts.

Ah . . . I see. Well, you can always go with MS Outlook via
Crossover. I can tell you from personal experience it is pretty sweet
. . . as in it is kind of like wearing really tight pants . . .
    uncomfortable.

MailPlane is pretty good. But, $25 is too much. I would pay $10, maybe $15.

I agree $25 is a little pricey. I've actually been using the demo version for the last year or so.  The demo version has menu some menu items disabled but all the functionality is still there. It only annoys you when you first start it up. You can still get updates too.

Never tried Crossover. How is memory usage?
